Hi everyone! I'm a little overdue for this post...
My name is Daphne Mazuz and I'm the newest Practice Services Manager at CHI--I started on October 18. While working on my master of public health, I had an internship at a Centering practice (Dimock Center in Roxbury, MA) and it made quite an impression on me. I'm really passionate about making health care a more welcoming and comfortable experience for people who are often marginalized by the health care system, and Centering was the first time I'd really seen that passion put into practice, so it's an honor to be here.
Through the end of 2017, I'm filling in for fellow PSM Shannon Merrell during her leave, so if she was your contact, now it's me. I've really enjoyed getting to know people these last few weeks and am excited for 2018!

Hello! My name is Esme Howard; I'm a CNM at Kaiser Walnut Creek in California (in the SF Bay Area). I've been a midwife since 1995 and Centering is to me one of the most exciting things I've ever been a part of professionally! I'm still pretty brand new at facilitating (starting 3rd group) and I feel like our program is struggling with some basic organizational issues (eg recruitment) -- and I'm now part of the Steering Committee so am feeling the urgency of improving the situation!
I'm really looking forward to making better use of CenteringConnects than I have over the past 2 years -- I'm sorry to say that I really didn't understand until quite recently what a great resource both this board and CHI as a whole are.
My Centering claim to fame.... Sharon Rising was my AP preceptor way back when (sadly, it was before she came up with the whole idea or I might have been doing Centering for a LOT longer than I have!) But -- better late than never!
-Esme

Hi,
I am a Program Coordinator for Cradle Cincinnati, in Cincinnati, OH. I joined CenteringConnects and the Ohio Centering Network to learn more about Centering and see how I can help advocate for CenteringPregnancy in Hamilton County, OH. We are currently trying to expand the number of CenteringPregnancy groups in two hospitals in Cincinnati. I would love to hear how others have advocated for CenteringPregnancy within their communities. I am also thinking about writing an op-ed and trying to have a podcast session on CenteringPregnancy on the local NPR station.

Hi:
I am Erin Hepner, MPH, MSN, ARNP, FNP-C, faculty at a DO school and in the last stages of my DNP.
I am adapting Centering for my patients at a free community clinic that serves mainly LEP, or Spanish-only speaking patients who are migrant, Hispanic farm workers, mainly from Mexico. Also using this for my DNP project...

Hello Amanda! I hope some folks at rural sites chime in. If it's helpful, you can look for sites by state here centeringhealthcare.secure.force.com/WebPortal/LocateCenteringSitePage if you are interested in certain areas. Thanks for joining us : )
