Agenda
• Billing (Nancy Baron, TriHealth)
• How are you billing for CenteringPregnancy? What codes are being reimbursed besides the codes for prenatal care?
• Is anyone working directly with insurance companies (e.g. CareSource) to help cover cost of notebooks or other ongoing expenses?
Cleveland Clinic using 99213 or global, asked about “S” codes for education mentioned by Linda Post of UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Ohio.
*Tanya will ask United Healthcare
CareSource piloting enhanced reimbursement as part of patient medical home in Dayton in Q3 of 2016.
Some sites using a PPD survey code at post-partum/reunion visit
• Infant Mortality Summit Dec. 5 & 6
• Ohio Centering Network meeting Dec. 5th?
• Abstract for a panel breakout being submitted
• Other possibilities to connect & collaborate?
We need to be mindful of other groups also trying to meet on the 5th, there may be a lot of competition. Lisa Holloway will find out what time meetings are starting on Monday and how they are spread out.
CHI will have an exhibit and coordinate submission of abstracts for at least two breakout sessions (one for current sites and one for interested people), and a poster.
Ideas for breakouts include: a panel of speakers about various aspects of Centering (an innovation, special population, a patient’s experience, residency programs), a breakout on CenteringParenting, a demonstration of CenteringCounts online
There are nine CenteringParenting sites in Ohio, more than any other state!
• Research
Heidi Gullett from NFP reported seeing a positive change in co-sleeping rates from early CenteringParenting data
• Question re: amount of time needed for prepping and charting before & after group – is four hours reasonable?
Some sites have just a few minutes before and after and enter into their EHR during the visit. Some have maybe a half hour, but no one reported having an hour before and an hour after group. Here is a discussion on prep and chart time and tools to help keep organized
• Reminder from the March of Dimes – brochures with a list of Ohio Centering sites are available to you all. Contact Lisa Holloway for a supply: LHolloway@marchofdimes.org
• Financial support for Centering update?
• Summa requested amendments to section 5164.01 of a bill to provide enhanced payment for Medicaid moms in CenteringPregnancy and CenteringParenting: the bill needed to broaden eligibility beyond addicted moms and include the interconception period
*Tanya will ask Michele McCarroll for an update. Northeast OH ACNM has very busy legislative liaisons that may be able to help. However, there will be no sessions until after the election.
