Provider burnout is being mentioned more and more in the news these days. How can providers practice good care and balance work and life? A survey mentioned in this STAT News article found eight transformational approaches. I'd also add Centering to this list! "It's the one thing in my week that brings me joy." ~Centering Provider Has your Centering practice provided you and your team with better balance? How?

Aloha! I would agree that CenteringPregnancy® has enriched my life in many ways! As a mother of a tween, I have learned the importance of LISTENING and the value of a discussion vs a lecture HAHA; I find myself using phrases and skills learned in Centering® in many aspects of my life. We discuss aspects of healthy lifestyle changes and parenting that have triggered some thoughtful consideration on my part, and I have learned some life hacks from our patients. I went from morbid fear of public speaking, to eagerly addressing a large group of providers to - hopefully - engage them in a discussion about Centering®! I sense the greatest amount of resistance from MD providers who feel they will lose their "professional distance" from patients, but I fear that is the very thing that promotes a lack of confidence and prevents active patient participation.
Mahalo for all the information on this site!
